B2B Head of Growth
This role is open to candidates based in LATAM, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone.
About Scale Army
This is a big boy job.
You will report directly to the CEO and sit on the leadership team.
We’re a staffing + AI services business serving B2B companies with 50–200 employees and $5M+ in revenue.
Nearly all our pipeline comes from paid media. You’ll lead the team responsible for managing that engine, which is why this role matters so much.
Our leadership team is incredibly fast and analytical. That should not intimidate you.
The Role
You are Scale Army’s marketing leader. Every part of marketing reports to you: paid media, creative, conversion, brand, content, and AEO + SEO.
You’ll build the team, set marketing strategy with the leadership team, and own the results. Those results are business outcomes, not platform metrics.
You’ll be accountable for marketing CAC, cost per MQL and SQL, cost per meeting held, paid pipeline quality, organic traffic, rankings, and organic-sourced pipeline. We don’t measure you on CTR, CPM, or cheap lead volume.
Technical and Analytical Excellence
We are looking for an unusually analytical, technically sophisticated growth leader who approaches marketing like an engineer: breaking down complex problems, working from first principles, and using data to identify the highest-impact opportunities for growth.
You should be comfortable going beyond standard marketing tools to investigate problems, work with data, build automations, and develop practical solutions using code, APIs, AI tools, or similar technologies.
You can model funnel economics, diagnose conversion bottlenecks, challenge assumptions with evidence, and translate technical and analytical insights into measurable improvements in qualified pipeline, sales meetings, customer acquisition costs, and revenue.
We value demonstrated problem-solving ability and technical depth over familiarity with a particular tool or title. You do not need to have followed a traditional marketing career path, but you must understand how to turn analytical rigor into commercial results.
What you’ll own:
Paid Media: Manage the media buyer, whether agency or in-house, across Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and X. Oversee 2–3 product lines with approximately $80K/month in ad spend today.
Conversion & Funnel Optimization: Own what paid traffic is sent to and how it converts, including offers, lead magnets, landing pages, forms, booking and show rates, and the testing roadmap behind them.
Marketing & Sales Alignment: Bridge marketing and sales. Work with the sales team every week, gather feedback on lead quality and messaging, and turn it into improvements in targeting, offers, and creative.
Sales Enablement: Help the sales team convert the meetings you generate by providing the messaging, content, and market insights they need.
Lead Generation Strategy: Work with the leadership team to develop a lead-generation strategy that serves sales, and challenge ICP assumptions when the data disagrees.
Attribution & Analytics: Help diagnose HubSpot attribution with Sales Ops so both teams can trust the same numbers.
AI-Native Operations: Set the standard for an AI-native team. Build your own dashboards, automations, and reusable agents, and expect the team to work the same way.
Creative Leadership: Manage the creative team, including what they produce, how they work, and how quickly they deliver. You can hire for this. Oversee thought leadership, social, video, and podcast production, and decide how to structure the content and organic team.
SEO & Organic Growth: Manage our SEO/AEO agency. You won’t execute SEO yourself, but you’ll set the direction and hold the agency accountable for organic traffic, rankings, and the pipeline it generates.
The Team You’ll Lead
You’ll lead a flat team of six to eight people across four lanes, all reporting to you. Several seats are already filled, and you’ll shape and hire the rest.
Paid Media: A media buyer is already in place. An agency or senior buyer may also be hired. This lane owns budget, campaign structure, bidding, and channel mix.
Creative: Includes a creative strategist, video editor, and production assistant. This lane owns concepts, hooks, scripts, and ad volume.
Conversion: Includes a CRO specialist and a web and analytics specialist. This lane owns landing pages, forms, testing, and tracking.
Brand, Content & AEO: Includes a part-time organic social lead, an AEO agency, and a senior content marketing manager to be hired. This lane owns thought leadership, social, video, podcasts, SEO, and organic growth.
Your First 90 Days
Days 1–30: Audit the funnel end to end, from impression to held meeting. Learn the account, creative pipeline, and team. Sit in on sales calls, establish a weekly sync with sales, and identify the three biggest leaks.
Days 31–60: Finalize the paid media setup, whether through an agency or senior hire. Establish a weekly creative testing cadence and ship the first conversion improvements.
Days 61–90: Demonstrate a measurable reduction in cost per meeting held. Have a senior content marketing manager hired or in final rounds, with a clear plan for content and organic growth.
What You’ve Done Before
10+ years of growth experience, including at least 3 years in paid media and at least 4 years in management. For this role, management means you have fired at least four people.
Led growth for a B2B services, lead-generation, or sales-led B2B software company where success was measured by booked or held sales meetings, not e-commerce transactions or self-serve signups.
Owned a paid media budget of $50K+/month across Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and X (Twitter) Ads, with real depth in each channel.
Scaled paid media spend while maintaining or improving meetings, SQLs, and CAC, rather than optimizing only for CPL.
Strong funnel math skills, including CAC, conversion rates by stage, and forecasting spend against outcomes.
Managed or collaborated with conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives.
Worked hand in hand with a sales team in a sales-led funnel and earned their trust on lead quality.
Managed an SEO agency or organic growth program and can evaluate its performance without doing SEO hands-on.
Worked closely with a creative team.
Strong HubSpot skills.
Advanced AI fluency beyond prompting. You’ve built tools with Claude Code or similar, created reusable skills or agents, and set up your own dashboards and automations. Be ready to show examples.
Exceptional analytical and systems thinking. You can break down complex business problems, identify underlying constraints, work through funnel economics, and translate data into actionable decisions.
Demonstrated technical problem-solving ability. You’re comfortable working with data and technical systems, and can independently build practical solutions using code, APIs, AI tools, or equivalent technologies.
We are open to candidates from engineering, analytics, technical entrepreneurship, and other nontraditional marketing backgrounds. A traditional marketing career path is not essential, but demonstrated growth marketing expertise and measurable commercial results are.
Nice to Have
Staffing, recruiting, or outsourcing experience.
Experience building a brand or thought-leadership program alongside performance marketing.
Experience with CRO testing tools.
